Com Gom (Combination of a Gom Gom, harp, and different resonators.)
This instrument was inspired by Didier Ferment's gom gom, which for its part was inspired by the goms or gouras from South Africa described by Uli Wahl on his site.
On this variation there are six strings, three on either side. Some consist of a short ribbon connected to nylon harp string. Some are just harp strings. Two of the strings cross over a bridge attached to an upside-down cajon drum. Two of the strings with ribbon are attached to a drum head.
The string attached to the drum head creates a cello like sound with higher pitch overtones. The six strings combined make an interesting combination of sounds and pitches. Listen here and here.
